7lbs in 7 days Day...10!

No I've not hidden in the chocolate aisle in Tesco, I'm still in there...Did 7lbs in 7 days work?

Well on day 8 I stepped on the scales and was delighted to see I'd lost 5lbs...ok so not the magic 7 as promised but 5lbs felt pretty fantastic, after months at slimming clubs losing half a pound a week or and I hate this phrase 'maintained', which basically means you're getting nowhere fast but putting a brave face on it!!

I'm also beginning to experience the energy drinking juices brings...it's great.
So I'm on to phase 2 the 'turbo charge' bit.

So far so good, juice for breakfast.

Made from pineapple, 4 apples, lime, cucumber, spinach, celery and avocado...gorgeous!

Juice, green veg soup or salad for lunch. Then a salad or light meal for tea. So far I've had:

  •  garlic and lemon chicken with steamed veg (Monday)
  • green salad with avocado and lemon and olive oil dressing(Tuesday)
  • honey glazed veg with mackerel (Wednesday)
Mmm Yummy...

The mackerel was from Abel and Cole so organic and i have to say it was the tastiest I've ever had.

7lbs in 7 days... Day 5 !!

I can't believe I've got this far without cracking... But I have Yaay!!

I'm at the point now where I'm not desperate to bite into a huge chip buttie, or eat my way through 6 chocolate bars, I just fancy wholesome food any wholesome food! And, although I can't believe I'm saying this, a gorgeous crispy salad with juicy red cherry tomatoes, some grated carrot, slices of avocado with an oil and lemon dressing, seems soooo appetising, I need to focus on my next juice and stop myself running into the kitchen and binging on the salad in the fridge.

I had the super detox yesterday and today and was pleasantly surprised as I thought that the amount of celery in it would make it unpalatable (I hate celery) ...but it was surprisingly tasty, actually it was delicious.

Exercise today was walking the dog and again it wasn't far about two miles there and back (the snow is still making it difficult to walk on the pavements.)
But according to the Jason Vale philosophy, I got off my bum and got some fresh air. It was definitely fresh, icy fresh.  As you can see by the photos.

My new Jason Vale book 'turbo-charge your life in 14 days' arrived today, so excited!

I've begun reading it because if I've lost weight I want to keep it off and lose more...I've definitely got more than 7 lbs to lose. I really like Jason's matter of fact way of writing and I actually find myself laughing out loud, which says it all.  I don't ever remember laughing on a diet before!

7lbs in 7 days Juice diet... Day 4

Ok so what happened to Day 3...did I skip it ... NO just really busy. I had to go into Manchester and then to Salford so trains and buses to get to my destination and quite a bit of fast walking. (That had to count for my exercise)...no chance of making all the juices and drinking them so I had a juice before I left home and two juices when I got home in between lots of water and apart from having to walk through the city with all the tantalising cooking smells, it was ok. Well I didn't succumb to a quick M&S sandwich and amazingly I wasn't hungry. This was the first time I'd tried the passion for juice master, it is scrumptious. Check out the link to see how to make it...

Now for Day 4... according to the book:-
  • I'm supposed to feel like I've lost weight- I DON'T!
  • I'm supposed to feel super healthy- I DON'T!  Well no more than usual
  • I'm supposed to have loads of energy- NO more than usual!
To be fair it is only Day 4 and I was on a relatively healthy diet before just hoping for a weight loss at the end of the week...

Super juice me Day 2

Slept really well last night...too well it was 9.30 before I could drag myself out of bed...the bed was so warm and cosy and it was freezing outside -6 last night.
Liked all the juices, just wish celery wasn't included as I really don't like it, but most of the taste is masked if I use large apples.

Ready for Day 2 of Juice diet

This chart which comes with the book is brilliant, really easy to use

Have not felt hungry at all, which has really surprised me.  No side effects except weeing more frequently. I try not to focus on the food I'd like to be eating. Jason Vale recommends only watching 1 hour of TV, which is probably good I know one of my biggest problems is snacking while watching T.V. Having to make so many shakes has meant I've watched much less TV than usual.

Day 2 Q&A

Q. What were the juicy highlights today?

Not feeling hungry and finding if I put enough juice with it, I can't taste the wheatgrass!

Q.How did you get on with the juicy exercise?

Walked the dog...but planning went well...I'm planning some pilates and swimming (inside where it's warm)
Taffie, ready for 'walkies'

Q. How long did you do?

Ok 30 minutes slipping and sliding through the snow and ice again!!

Q. How did you feel?

good

Q. How would you rate your overall energy levels? Marks out of 10

      9

Q. Any other juicy comments?

It's recommended that these juices are drunk with ice so far I've not done this and much prefer the warmed apple juice with cinnamon...perhaps winter was not the best time to start this ...BUT  I've started so I'll finish!!

7lbs in 7 days!

Wow! Well hopefully it will be  WOW  7 days from now. As I'm focussing on losing weight and improving my health I've begun Jason Vale's 7lbs in 7 days The Juice Master Diet.

Basically it's eating/drinking only juices for 7 days (So it's 100% raw) and the book promises fantastic results!!
The plan is pretty easy to follow and all the juice recipes are included. There's also a pretty nifty chart which clearly shows each day with the juices and recipes colour coded.  So I've stuck that on the Kitchen cabinets and it makes things really easy.

The book is easy to read and quite funny, I really liked the way he illustrates his points, like his goldfish story.

Each day it asks you to answer a series of questions to log how things have gone.  So I thought I'd use my blog to do that.

Q. How did you find your first day of juicing?

Ok very easy to follow, but then all the juices tasted nice, the lemon/Ginger zinger was delish!  Noticed there is one juice that sounds revolting, it's cucumber, spinach, celery and wheatgrass, yuk! I'm not surprised that this doesn't turn up until day 6...if it had been day 1 it could have been make or break.

Q. What were the juicy highlights?

Succeeding, not being hungry and not being tempted to eat the chicken risotto I cooked for my husband's evening meal(just kept focussing on how nice my juice was going to be.)

Q.How did you get on with the juicy exercise?

Erhm, the suggestion was 2x20/30 minutes workout...I walked the dog approx 30 minutes as we've still got lots of snow here and it's deadly underfoot.  But I have spent a lot of time thinking about it, made enquiries about yoga, phoned about Pilates to find the number was discontinued. Have definitely planned to go swimming on Friday (50+ group) I'm sure that counts!

Q. How long did you do?

Ok 30 minutes slipping and sliding through the snow and ice.

Q. How did you feel?

Frozen

Q. How would you rate your overall energy levels? Marks out of 10

      9

Q.Any other juicy comments?

I'm sure I can do this it's only 7 days...anyone can do 7days...can't they?

Nearly there...

Three years on...                                       and the end is in sight... Finally,  within 2lbs of my target ...
